Many people do terrible things out of ignorance, and your boyfriend probably falls into this "cat"egory. But ignorance is not an excuse, legally or morally, for declawing a cat. I suggest your boyfried submit to a simple procedure in which all his fingernails are removed. This will replicate the pain of declawing, but since your cat can no longer defend him/herself, I suggest another simple procedure for your boyfriend-- amputation at the wrists. Alternatively, you might consider a new boyfriend.
