Thank you for discouraging declawing. I hope that you refuse to carry out the procedure, explaining your reasons for doing this:-)

Here in the UK, declawing is illegal I am glad to say. As someone who has had cats all of her life, it never occurred to me that anyone would WANT to amputate a cat's claws until I had access to the Internet. I am truly horrified.

I personally find the best remedy to declawing is educating the cat owner to have patience and love towardsa the cat to train it to scratch only in an appropriate place, like a scratching post.
