: I have had people tell me that many cats that get declawed

: experience or is that just one of those stories that get started?

My mother has two cats, both declawed. The male bites but not the female. Her vet told her that male cats are the biters--not so much females. the vet filed his teeth down just a little, so that they're rounded instead of pointed. Now when he goes to bite, it doesn't hurt at all! :-)
I really don't think declawing has anything to do withn biting.
